400 women personnel join BSF as Seema Praharis to serve as the first line of defence

The Border Security Force (BSF) hosted passing out parade and attestation ceremony of the new recruits at Subsidiary Training Centre, BSF.

459 recruits, passed out to join BSF as Seema Prahari, an all woman batallion of the BSF. All the new recruited women hail from Uttar Pradesh.

Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar, IPS, (Rtd), Advisor to Lieutenant Governor of J&K (UT), Government of India was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Chief Guest inspected the grand attestation parade of BSF Recruit Constables.

Speaking on the occasion, Bhatnagar said that BSF being the "First Line of Defence" has not only been guarding our borders effectively since it’s inception but it has made significant contributions in fighting foreign sponsored terrorism and internal -militancy also with unparallel valour and steely determination. 

Underlining  the very fact that close cooperation and coordination amongst different security agencies is necessary to eliminate terrorism and narco-terror threats that emanates  across our borders, the chief guest asserted that BSF with efficient mechanisms and response systems is fully prepared to meet the mammoth challenges.

Addressing the recruits, Bhatnagar, appreciated the excellent display of self-confidence, skill and picture perfect coordination which was the high point of the parade. He applauded the recruits for choosing BSF as a career option and exhorted them to serve the nation with courage and enthusiasm.

The Advisor congratulated Inspector General, Jammu Frontier HQ BSF Kashmir and the instructional staff of STC Kashmir for putting in Herculean efforts in achieving the objective of moulding raw village youths, in well trained Seema Praharis and have given them self-confidence and turning them into disciplined Jawans. He blessed the Recruits with a bright future in their life and service ahead.

The officials also awarded medals to recruits who performed exceptionally well in various indoor & outdoor activities. The parade for Batch 109, 110, 111 & 112 was commanded by R/Ct Vinay Kumar. Five trainees from each batch were adjudged best in different competitions and were presented with trophies.

The awards were presented to Ct Mohit Kumar, Ct Vikas Ragera, Ct Satyam Singh, Ct Hemant Singg, Ct Shivank Singh, Ct Vinay Kumar, Ct Mukul Kumar, Ct Amit Kumar, Ct Amarjeet Kumar, Ct Vinay Kumar, Ct Himansu Moga, Ct Anuj Pratap Singh, Ct Pravesh Kumar, Ct Sawan, Ct Sudhansu Yadav, Ct Parveen Kumar Singh, Ct Akash Diwakar, Ct Vishal, Ct Nadeem Ali and Ct Pardeep Kumar.

Senior officers of Border Security Force, other security forces, parents and families members of the trainees who were witnesses felt proud of this memorable parade which they will cherish in times to come.

According to the BSF, over the course of 44 weeks of training, the recruits learnt handling different types of weapons, firing skills, law, drill and border management. Besides  due to the hard work been put in by trainers of the STC BSF, Kashmir their’s physical efficiency has also increased many fold.
