Delhi Crime Branch arrests two from Nandu gang in an encounter in Rohini

New Delhi, July 5
The Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested two gangsters from the notorious Nandu gang in a police encounter in sector 34 of Delhi’s Rohini.
The arrested men have been identified as Vijay and Sombir, and both sustained bullet injuries to their legs during the encounter.
The crime branch stated that Vijay and Sombir are suspected of being involved in the recent murder of Deepak, nephew of gangster Manjeet Mahal, lodged in Tihar jail.
As per the case details, the murder took place on June 27 in the Bawana area of Delhi. Deepak, who had no criminal record, was on a morning walk with his daughter when two assailants on a bike opened fire on him at close range. Deepak suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead. One bullet also struck his 10-year-old daughter in the hand.
Acting on a tip-off, the crime branch learned that the accused would be in the Shahbad Dairy area of Rohini. A trap was laid and when police tried to stop the suspects, they reportedly opened fire and attempted to flee. Both shooters were shot by the police teams.
The injured gangsters were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The crime branch will probe the motive behind the murder after questioning ofthe duo.
