Delhi Premier League 2024-25: CISF celebrates historic football victory

New Delhi, March 27
In a historic moment for Delhi football, the "CISF Protector" football team has won the Delhi Premier League 2024-25 for the first time, marking a significant achievement for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
This victory is particularly remarkable as it is the first time in Delhi’s football history that a paramilitary force team has claimed the prestigious title.
The Delhi Premier League, the top tier of football in the National Capital, witnessed intense competition this season, with 12 top teams battling for supremacy. The CISF Protector emerged victorious after a string of stellar performances, showcasing exceptional skill, discipline, and teamwork.
Adding to their impressive feat, the CISF team defeated several I-League teams, including Delhi FC, Garhwal Heroes, and Sudeva FC, on their path to glory. Their triumph highlights the growing strength and potential of paramilitary forces in national-level sporting events.
The winner’s trophy was presented to the team by Parvesh Verma, Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control of Delhi, in a grand ceremony celebrating their achievement.
This victory not only marks a new era for CISF in Indian football but also serves as an inspiration for other teams from security forces to participate and excel in mainstream sporting competitions, CISF said.
