One of the star officer of Delhi Police, IPS Sanjay Kumar Sain now in CISF

One of the star officers of Delhi Police, Additional CP Sanjay Kumar Sain is all set to join the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as Deputy Inspector General of Police.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) passed an order stating approval of the competent authority for appoiy of Sanjay Kumar Sain as Deputy Inspector General of Police in CISF against existing vacancy as per usual terms ad conditions of deputation.
The CISF is on the largest forces guarding large instutions in the country be it private or government, airport and metros. The CISF also guards the Indian Parliament and provides security to VVIPs.
A 2011 batch IPS officer, Sain is currently posted as Additional CP in the Delhi Crime Branch.
DCP Sain supervised the Northeast riots investigation that was massive. He introduced a Riot Cell and appointed policemen there who first worked on analysis the cases, recording statements, collectiving evidence, preparing chargesheets in a systematic manner.
Sain took over at a critical time when Delhi Police was facing the heat of northeast riots. His approach and style of working won hearts of lakhs of citizens in Northeast distict.
DCP Sain under his leadership brought an end to gangism of Nasir Chennu gang in north east, curbing organized crimes with an interesting shockwave policy under special operation called ‘Operation Ankush’ and importantly community policing to rope in citizens’ support.
DCP Sain came up with the interesting “shockwave policy” to eradicate the gangs from its roots.
After studying the crime pattern and contributing factors, specific strategies were adopted for specific crimes under the umbrella of Operation “Ankush”. One of those strategies was the “Shock Wave Policy” to neutralize/erase the influence of gangs and gangsters in the district.
The shockwave policy destroyed the clout of gangs of Nasir, Chennu Irfan and Hashim Baba.
He also intoroduced a platform “NAGRIK BHAICHARA SAMITI” and started program “Ummeed” to reconstruct the social structure and to repair social fabric, restore harmony and bridge the gap among communities.
His initiative “Ratan Lal Medal for promoting communal Harmony” was started by Delhi Police in the memory of Late HC Ratan Lal who had lost his life in the line of the duty during NE Riots . He earned accolades and appreciation letters from Hon’ble Court and Commissioner of Police, Delhi for streamlining the investigation of Riot Cases and use of scientific tools in investigation of riot cases.
After his posting at Northeast district, he was transferred as DCP Central where he received "Special Commendation Disc” by the Commissioner of Police, Delhi, for successful planning and execution of law and order arrangements in connection with unprecedented G-20 Summit. He tackled organized and street crime effectively, ensuring improved safety and relief for residents throughout the district.
In the Delhi Crime Branch, Sain cracked several high profile cases, dismantled the narcotics network and atrenghtened law enforcement efforts.

Sain is decorated with the President Police Medal for Gallantry for his gallant act during his tenure as SP Roing in the state of Arunachal Pradesh in the year 2019. He along with his team had arrested eight armed miscreants after an exchange of fire foiling their plans to rob a bank.
He was awarded with State Gold Medal in the year 2019 for nabbing nine armed insurgents (from the banned terrorist outfit of NDFB) and recovering huge cache of weapons including automatic rifles and ammunition.
He received accolades including appreciation from Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, CM of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt General of Armed forces, Commanding officers of Paramilitary forces, Public Representatives etc for various initiatives
He is also a receipient of FICCI Smart Policing Award- Arrested more than 100 drug peddlers and suppliers, broke the supply chain of the rampant drug trade in the district and ensured rehabilitation of young drug abuse victims. On his recommendation Anti-Drug Squad were formed across the state. He also won a Gallantry award for eradicating extremism.
An alumni of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Sain was earlier an IRS officer of the 2009 batch and took up IPS in 2011.
He served as ACP Sadar Bazaar, DCP Traffic, SP Roing district in Arunachal Pradesh, additional DCP Shahdara, DCP North East District, DCP Central and then the Delhi Crime Branch as DCP and later got promoted as Additional CP.
Brought up in Shahpura of Rajasthan, DCP Sain’s elder brother and sister are IAS officers posted in Delhi and Chattisgarh respectively.
