Senior IPS Sharad Aggarwal appointed as DGP Mizoram, Anil Shukla brought back to Delhi Police

Anil Shukla served in the National Investigator Agency for six years before appointed as DG Mizorma, has been appointed back in Delhi Police

New Delhi, June 24

The Centre has appointed 1997 batch IPS officer, Sharad Agarwal as the new Director General of Police Mizoram. 

Agarwal was serving as Special Commissioner of Police, Economic Offences Wing, Delhi Police. 

He is known for his extensive expertise in financial crime investigations and inter-agency coordination, including a notable tenure as Joint Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and supervised some high profile cases. 

His experience across policing roles in Union Territories and the CBI is expected to bring fresh strategic direction to law enforcement in Mizoram.

Outgoing DGP Anil Shukla, who has been leading Mizoram Police since 2023, is being moved back to Delhi Police. 

Anil Shukla(1996, AGMU Cadre) is a highly experienced and decorated police officer. His academic background includes a degree in Civil Engineering, Post-Graduation in Police Management and Masters in Public Policy & Management. Before joining his new post, he was ADGP, A & N Islands.

Shukla served in National Investigation Agency (NIA) as Inspector General on Central Deputation for 6 years from 2015 to April 2021, making significant contributions in investigating very important cases. He solved and charge-sheeted the Pulwama terror attack case on CRPF, arrested and charge-sheeted all important Hurriyat leaders in the Terror Funding case, and investigated the LOC Trade case, unearthed the Narco-arms-terror funding nexus. He also probed the explosives case near Mukesh Ambani's home -Antilia (Sachin Waze case) in Mumbai.
