New Delhi, January 29
The Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a packet of suspected heroin from the border area of Ferozepur district.
The BSF stated that the troops recovered one packet of suspected heroin weighing 500gms from a farming field adjacent to Lakha Singh Wala, district Ferozepur. The packet was wrapped in white colour adhesive tape alongwith two radium sticks and one improvised plastic hook was also found attached with the packet.
The BSF troops on the information of locals about the presence of suspicious items in three different locations along the border area of Gurdaspur and Ferozepur district conducted search operations in the suspected areas.
The BSF informed that during the search operation, the troops successfully recovered one Glock pistol alongwith a magazine from a agricultural field adjacent to Chote Bahadurke in Ferozepur district. The pistol was wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and one steel ring and a toy light were also attached to the Pistol.
In another incident, the BSF troops on duty recovered a 12-bore gun and 11 cartridges (12-Bore) ahead of the border fence, adjacent to Momanpur in Gurdaspur district.
In another incident, at about 12:15 hrs, on the information of local villager, a search operation by BSF troops culminated in recovery of one packet weighing 578 grams of suspected heroin from a sugarcane field adjacent to village- Kukkad, distt- Gurdaspur. The packet was wrapped with yellow adhesive tape and a metal ring was also found attached to the packet, officials further stated.
