AAP MP Swati Maliwal finally records her complaint, Delhi Police books Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's PA Bibhav Kumar

Swati Maliwal has given a 1 seven page written complaint to Delhi Police and recorded her statement regarding the assault giving shocking details of the incident

New Delhi, May 17

Three days after the assault on former Delhi Commission for Women Chief, Swati Maliwal that started a political storm, the Delhi Police filed an FIR against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar after Maliwal finally gave a written complaint of assault. 

Swati Maliwal filled a 7 page complaint after a high-level Delhi Police team visited her residence to record her statement.

The police team, led by an Additional Commissioner of Police Pramod Singh Kushwaha alognwith woen officers and and spent nearly four hours seeking details from the Rajya Sabha MP.

Maliwal detailed the incident and the circumstances under which she made a Police Control Room (PCR) call on May 13. 

In her complaint, Maliwal alleged that Vibhav slapped her four to five times, beat her with sticks, hit her in the stomach, and physically assaulted her. She made two PCR calls from the residence of Kejriwal. 

Maliwal finally spoke about the incident on social media saying,  “What happened to me was very bad. I have given my statement to the police on the incident that happened to me. I hope that appropriate action will be taken. The last few days have been very difficult for me. I thank those who prayed for me. Those who tried to do character assassination, said that she was doing it on the instructions of the other party, may God keep them happy too”. 

She added, “An important election” is going on and “Swati Maliwal is not important, the issues of the country are important”. She made a “special request to BJP people to not do politics on this incident”.

The National Commission for Women (NCW), meanwhile, has summoned Bibhav Kumar to appear before the agency on May 17. 

A day after the incident, AAP confirmed the allegations and stated that party chief Arvind Kejriwal has directed stern action to be taken in the matter. Senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh, at a press conference, also said that the incident involving Maliwal was "highly condemnable".
