CBI books works manager of Yantra India Ltd. Jabalpur for bribery

Accused works manager was deliberately not signing on the WCC and started demanding Rs. 1 lakhs to sign the bills

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against works manager of Yantra India Ltd. (Grey Iron Foundry), Jabalpur (a Central PSU) on allegations of a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh  for signing the Work Completion Certificate (WCC).

The case was registered on the basis of recent communications of Director Vigilance, Yantra India Ltd., Nagpur, regarding complaint submitted by a Proprietor of a Jabalpur based private service agency, against the said Works Manager, Grey Iron Foundry, Jabalpur on demand of alleged bribe.

The CBI stated that the proprietor was, allegedly, awarded contract to provide 12 Fireman and 6 Fire Engine Driver to Grey Iron Foundry, Jabalpur. In a letter to Yantra India Ltd. Head Quarter, Ordnance Factory Ambajhari, Wadi, Nagpur, complainant   alleged that he did not receive the WCC (Work Completion Certificate) for the month of June 2023. Further, he allegedly submitted bills for April, May and June 2023 amounting to Rs. 16 lakhs. It was alleged that accused works manager was deliberately not signing on the WCC and started demanding money. The demand of bribe by accused Works Manager, Yantra India Ltd. from son of complainant on Whatsapp call, was allegedly video recorded.

The agency then conducted searches at the residential and official premises of the accused at Jabalpur which has so far led to recovery of various incriminating documents.
