Delhi Crime Branch, in a major crackdown on ‘Rohit Choudhary Gang’ arrested one more wanted criminal involved in several cases of murder, firing illegal arms after brief exchange of fire.
The accused was identified as Arun Kumar Nagar (31) of JJ Camp Tigri a close associate of gangster Rohit Choudhary.
The crime branch had received specific input regarding movement of one Arun Nagar, a close associate of dreaded criminal, Rohit Choudhary and Praveen alias Tittu who were arrested a day back.
The crime branch team reached the spot as per the information near Dera Mandi Road, and laid a trap. At about 7:20 PM, one white coloured i-20 car was spotted coming towards Dera Gaon, as the police tried to approach the car, the driver of the car accelerated towards Dera Mandi Road. The police also chased the car, finding himself being cornered by the police team, the accused tried to flee away and opened fire at the police team. The police team retaliated and fired at the accused person, in which accused got hit in his leg and fell down on the ground and was overpowered by the police team.
He was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The crime branch registered a case under Section 186, 353, 307 of the Indian Penal Code and section 25, 27 of the Arms Act. One automatic pistol along with the cartridges was recovered from his possession.
The officials added that during search of the car, 10 country made pistols along with five live cartridges were also recovered. The car, being used by the accused was checked thoroughly and as per engine number & chassis number the original registration number of the car was found to be HR-26-BZ-7109, registered in the name of Neeta Kashyap resident of Gurgaon. The accused fixed fake number DL-12CK-1597.
The crime branch recently arrested more persons of the Rohit Chaudhary gang who were Prabhat of Dhaulpur Rajashthan and Manish of Aya Nagar Delhi a week back.
Nagar is close associate of Choudhary and also works on his directions. He is involved in the commission of a series of heinous crimes with the objective of gaining pecuniary benefits or gaining undue economic or other advantages. He also a close associate of dreaded criminal Ankit Gujjar.
During interrogation, he has disclosed that gangster Ankit Gujjar is also the member of our gang. He committed crime on the directions of Ankit Gujjar and Rohit Choudhary and also works for them. On further interrogation accused Arun Kumar Nagar has disclosed that he was collecting the illegal fire arms and ammunitions on the direction of Rohit Choudhary and Ankit Gujjar for use of their goons during local body elections, officials added.
