DG CRPF GP Singh visits naxal affected areas of Chhattisgarh

New Delhi, February 4

The new DG Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) visited Chhattisgarh soon after taking over the charge. On assuming command of CRPF, Shri Gyanendra Pratap Singh (IPS), DG CRPF visited Naxal affected areas of Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewada.

DG CRPF Gyanendra Pratap Singh spent night with Jawans in highly Naxal affected area of Tekalgudium and formally launched “Civic Action Programme” for the general public. 

The CRPf stated that this programme is an important step towards making local communities self-reliant, promoting civil security and building trust between security forces and general public. 

Speaking on the occasion, DG CRPF GP Singh said, “CRPF not only contributes to the security of the country but also plays an important role in the development of society. This initiative shows our commitment towards empowering the local communities and giving them a better future.”

Under the Civic Action Programme, educational material, school bags and stationery kits were distributed to more than 100 students in local schools and in future also educational material will be provided to needy students at CRPF deployment sites, officials further added. 

To promote health services, free medical camps were organized in which more than 100 villagers were examined and essential medicines were also distributed. 

The youth will be given special training for self-employment which will include facilities like tailoring, bamboo-craft, sewing, computer skills, agriculture art, carpentry, driving etc. 

To increase employment opportunities for local youth, Company Commanders of CRPF deployed in their area were directed to help the needy youth in education and training so that they can improve their future, officials further said. 

The DG said that CRPF will distribute 2000 bicycles to facilitate movement in rural areas and to make access to education easier for students, out of which 20 bicycles were distributed today. This will facilitate students from remote areas to go to school and rural workers to reach their workplace.

In addition to that, the force distributed clothes to poor and needy villagers to promote social cooperation, and in the coming time CRPF will distribute clothes to other needy people as well. Under this initiative, more than 200 families were provided with clothes, sports material, agricultural equipment and essential items of daily use.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of local administration, social organizations and rural masses. The villagers warmly welcomed the initiative and called it a step that will bring a positive change in their lives.

The DG CRPF expressed confidence that this initiative will not only improve the lives of the villagers but also establish a strong relationship between the CRPF and the public. Additionally, he assured the local people that the CRPF will continue to help those in need through such programs.
