CRPF sets its target on 3 top naxal commanders among 15 central committee members wanted in the country

BW Police World elaborates on 15 central committee members that feature in the list of wanted Naxals or Maoists in the country with 3 top commanders of the dreaded Polit Bureau of CPI(M)

New Delhi, June 12

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and has all eyes set on the top Naxal commanders wanted in India hiding in the naxal belt of Chhattisgarh and adjoining states. 

The naxals are also called the Central Committee Members of CPI (Maoist). Some of them are a part Polit Bureau, the dreaded formation of naxals that mainly comprise of top commanders running the show.

They also have various divisions namely Central Regional Members, Central Military Commission, Jana Tana DK, Bihar Regional Committee, Odisha State Committee, South Bastar Divisional Committee, PLGA and many more.

15 such central committee members feature in the list of wanted Naxals or Maoists in the country with 3 top commanders of the dreaded Polit Bureau of the CPI(M)

The security forces recently gunned down top commanders- Basavaraju alias Nambala Keshav Rao and B Sudhakar in recent encounters under 'Operation Black Forest' marking an end of an era. While the LTTE trained Basavaraju ran the naxal movement for six decades, Sudhakar was a strategist and tutor for recruiting young tribal youth in the naxal force.

Earlier, security forces had neutralized another top commander Chanderi Yadav alias Vivek in Jharkhand. Yadav was a central committee member and secretary of Bihar Jharkhand special committee in April this year. Pratap Reddy Ramchandra, general secretary of CPI(M), a Polit Bureau member and Odisha state committee incharge was neutralized in January this year.

Three top commanders are still out in the forests of Chhattisgarh and adjoing areas grappling to run the movement in the country after the brutal killings of other top commanders by CRPF and Chhattisgarh Police.

One of the top commanders Mupalla Laxman Rao  (73) alias Ganapati alias Ramanna alias Srinivas alias Malanna is wanted by the forces. He is a Polit Bureau member, ex general secretary of CPI(M) and central committee member. He carried a bounty of Rs. one crore in Chhattisgarh, Rs. 12 lakhs in Jharkhand and Rs. 25 lakhs in Andhra Pradesh.

Another top commander Mallojula Venugopal (60) alias Abhay alias Bhupati, alias Laxmirajan alias Vivek is wanted by security forces. He carries bounty of Rs. 1 crore in Chhattisgarh, Rs. 25 lakhs in Andhra Pradesh and Rs. 12 lakhs in Jharkhand.

Incidentally, Mallojula Venugopal who is a member of Polit Bureau, central committee and secretary of central regional bureau is also a spokesperson of Maoists.

The third wanted top commander is Misir Besra alias Bhaskar alias Sunirmal alias Vivek alias Bhaskar Besra member of the polit bureau, central commitee and central miliary commission. He carried a bounty of Rs. 1 crore in Chhattisgarh and Rs. 12 lakhs in Jharkhand.

The target of eliminating the top commanders has just begun for CRPF and police who were so far neutrlizing the members from various groups.

The naxals wanted by the forces also include Kadari Satyanarayan Reddy (62), a central committe member and Jana Tana DK who carries bounty of Rs. 77 lakhs in three states. Similarly, Deoji alias Chetna Deoji (62), a central committee member and secretary of central military commission who carries bounty of Rs. 77 lakhs is another wanted member in the list.

Chandranna alias Puluri Prasad (58) is a central committee member and incharge of Telanga state committee and carried a bounty of Rs. 77 lakhs in three states.

Bhasker alias Modem Balkrishna (56) is wanted in four states that have jointly placed a bounty of Rs. 97 lakhs. He is a central commitee member, incharge of Bargarh Bolangir Mahasamund joint divisional committee and secretary of bihar regional commitee.

Ganesh Uike alias Ganeshan (58) is active in Odisha state commitee and a central committee member carries a bounty of Rs. 60 lakhs in Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh.

Gajalara Ravi (55), Anal Da (53) and Madvi Hidma (52) are all wanted central committee members carrying reward of  Rs. 40 lakhs each. Madvi Hidma is incharge Military (PLGA) battlion no 1 and a SMC member.

K Ramchandra Reddy a central committe member and secretary and spokesperson of Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee, Malla Raja Reddy (73) member of Odisha state committee carry rewards of Rs. 40 lakhs each. Asim Mondal (60) secretary of West Bengal state committee also carries reward of Rs. 40 lakhs in Chhattisgarh.

A woman naxal and a member of central commitee Sujata (59) alias Kalpana alias Padma and more is in charge of South Bastar divisional commitee. She is also a member of Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee. She carries a bounty of Rs. 40 lakhs in Chhattisgarh.

The security forces are on the prowl of these wanted naxal leaders. The forces are carrying specialized operations on intelligence of their presence in certain spots.

CRPF's operations in the core Left Wing affected states Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Telangana delivered substantial setbacks to Maoist formations.  

As per the data shared by CRPF till June 5, the  successful and consistent operations of CRPF led to 40 Maoists neutralized, 26 apprehended, 135 surrendered. The force recovered 77 arms, 1179 rounds of ammunition, 834 kg explosives, 140 IEDs, 34 grenades, 34 detonators, 34 gelatin sticks and cash Rs. 5 lakhs.

With the top naxal leaders eliminated in first six months of the year, Home Minister Amit Shah's call for naxal free Bharat by March 2026 is not far.
