Four sharpshooters of interstate gang of Nandu-Jyoti Baba Gang held

New Delhi, June 21

Delhi Police Special Cell arrested four sharpshooters from Nandu Jyoti Baba gang.

The accused were identified as Vinay of Najafgarh, Robin Baliyan of Sonipat, Haryana, Sumit Poonia of Mahendergarh, Haryana and Deepu Dagar of Jaffarpur Kalan associated with notorious Nandu and Jyoti Baba Gang. Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu is absconding while Jyoti Baba is running his nexus from behind bars.
The special cell had received information that few of the gangs members were aiming to murder a businessman of Malikpur village who refused to yield to the demands of these criminals.

The special cell reached at the road leading to Ujwa Village form Kharkhari Village, Delhi. After waiting for few minutes, two motorcycles with pillions on it, who were coming from Kharkhari Village and heading towards Ujwa. He told that they were the boys who have come to Delhi to murder a businessman of Malikpur Village on the directions of the kingpin of Nandu and Jyoti Baba Gang.
The officials added that the accused tried to flee from the spot. During this one of the motorcycle rider lost his control while the other dropped his motorcycle on the road side and they tried to run away from the spot. While the raiding team went behind them, they whipped out their firearms and started firing aimlessly at the police staff and it was a close save for head constables Rahul and Praveen. The police retaliated in self-defence.The bullet shots fired by police team hit on the legs of three of the accused persons, while one of them was overpowered unhurt. 

The agency seized  two sophisticated semi automatic pistols and two country made pistols with 10 live cartridges have been seized from accused persons.

During the interrogation, accused Vinay disclosed that he used to provide arms, ammunitions and shelter to members of Nandu and Jyoti Baba gang on the directions of Vikas alias PK, an associate of the Kapil Sangwan. Robin Baliyan was assigned with the task to open fire on some businessman of Malikpur Village, Delhi. Robin was hiding at a safe place provided by Vinay and was supposed to accomplish the task assigned to him with the weapons arranged by Vinay. Sumit Poonia was also a member of the team who was hiding in Delhi to shoot at other businessmen.

Vinay is allegedly involved in over 40 cases of snatching, robbery, extortion, car jacking, murder etc. The accused persons were in touch with their leaders who are lodged in jail and who were directed to create a feeling of terror among several businessmen of Delhi residing in Bijwasan Village, Samaspur Village, Nanak Piau Najafgarh, Dinpur etc. who had failed to deliver the extortion money (in crores) demanded from each such businessman.
