New Delhi, June 17
The Union Home Ministry has handed over the investigation of the Reasi terror attack to National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The anti-terror agency has filed a case under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in the matter.
The attack on the bus, which was returning to Katra from Shiv Khori temple in Reasi, killed nine people and injured 33 others.
Last week, a total of 50 suspects were detained by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in connection with the probe into the terror attack. It came after an extensive investigation led by the police and security forces that gave significant leads, helping in the identification and capture of those potentially involved in orchestrating the attack.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police also released a sketch of one of the three terrorists involved in the attack. They also announced a Rs 20 lakh reward for information about him.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high level meeting with NSA Ajit Doval, J&K Police, CRPF, Indian Army and other higher officials n the wake of the recent terror attacks in the Valley.
