The tests were conducted two days after the incident on July 9 after his arrest

New Delhi, August 10

In the BMW hit and run case of Mumbai, the blood and urine samples of accused Mihir Shah showed no traces of alcohol.

In a tragic accident on July 7, a 45-year-old Kaveri Nakhwa, was killed after being dragged for 1.5 kilometres, while her husband, Pradip Nakhwa, suffered injuries in Worli area of Mumbai.

The police after a long chase had arrested Mihir Shah, 23, who was allegedly driving the car at the time of the accident, about 58 hours later at a resort in Virar. The tests were conducted two days after the incident on July 9 during his arrest.

Before the incident, Shah had been partying with friends at a bar in Juhu and drove them home in a Mercedes before taking the BMW for a joy ride on Marine Drive. Near Haji Ali, he reportedly switched seats with his driver, Rajrishi Bidawat, who was allegedly in the passenger seat when the car collided with the scooter.

Following the accident, Shah attempted to evade capture by shaving his beard to disguise himself. However, police tracked him down on July 9 and arrested him.

The officials stated that the time lapse between the accident and the collection of samples may explain the negative test results.

Shah faces charges of culpable homicide, while Bidawat, his driver, has also been arrested.
