Pune girl falls in 60feet gorge in Borane Ghat while taking a selfie

A video of the incident, showing Nasreen falling while attempting to take a selfie, has gone viral on social media

New Delhi, August 5

A young girl from Pune fell off a deep gorge at Borane Ghat in Maharashtra while trying to click a selfie. The girl was rescued with the help of the Home Guard and local residents. 

The police stated that a group from Pune visited the Thoseghar waterfall. While taking a selfie at Borane Ghat, Nasreen Amir Qureshi (29) from Warje, Pune, slipped and fell into a 60-feet-deep gorge.

Nasreen was successfully pulled out of the gorge and immediately admitted to a private hospital in Satara for treatment. Her condition remains critical.

Following the incident, District Collector Jitendra Dudi ordered the closure of tourist spots and waterfalls from August 2 to 4 to prevent such accidents.
