Two CRPF personnel martyred in Chattisgarh in an IED blast

IED blast took place around near Timmapuram village between Silger and Tekalgudem camps in Sukma district

New Delhi, June 24

Two CRPF personnel were killed in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast by Naxalites in Sukma district in Chhattisgarh.

The deceased were identified as constable Shailendra (29) and the vehicle driver Vishnu R (35) from CRPF.

The police stated that the IED blast took place around near Timmapuram village between Silger and Tekalgudem camps in Sukma district of security forces.

The personnel from Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA) 201 battalion of the CRPF, were going from Silger to Tekulagudem camps, on a routine patrol as a part of its Road Opening Party at around 3 pm on Sunday on a truck and bikes, when the truck was blown up by the IED blast.

Similarly, in another incident, one Naxalite was killed in an encounter by District Reserve Guard personnel in Amjhar in Khallari area in Dhamtari district. A team of DRG soldiers were out on an anti-Maoist operation in the jungle, during which an encounter took place. 

The police informed that several naxalites were injured and forces are carrying out a search operation.
