UP Police arrest shiksha mitra who made students recite 'Lab aati hai dua'

Th UP Police arrested a shiksha mitra in Bareilly for allegedly hurting religious sentiments by ‘making students’ of a government school recite a song.
The police had registered a case against the teacher identified as Wazeeruddin who made the students recite the prayer ' Lab pe aati hai dua' allegedly not prescribed for government schools.
A video of students reciting ‘Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua’ went viral on social media last week.
The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) functionary, Sompal Singh Rathore had filed a complaint against Wazeeruddin stating that the prayer was recited to convert students. He alleged that the prayer was recited to attar t students towards Islam and prepare them for conversion.
The case against Siddiqui and Wazeeruddin was lodged under sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot) and 298 (uttering, words, etc., with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person) of the Indian Penal Code.
