UP Police under 'Operation Trinetra' install high resolution CCTV cameras in Gorkahpur

New Delhi, June 12

The Gorakhpur district police are installing high-resolution CCTV cameras on most of the road junctions in the area to ensure the safety and security of the public.

The Gorakhpur police have started ‘Operation Trinetra’ under Additional Director General, Gorakhpur Zone, Akhil Kumar.

The initiative has been successful due to collaboration with common citizens who are coming together to support Operation Trinetra under the ‘Har Ghar Yojana’, added officials.

More than 11,500 cameras have already been installed at 400 traffic junctions and 27 police stations in Gorakhpur. So far, cameras have been installed in 136 areas in urban Gorakhpur and 292 in rural areas. At least 14,713 cameras have been installed under the scheme called “Har Ghar camera”.

As per the officials, the project has enabled Gorakhpur police to create a geo-map of the district, making sure no dark spots are left and the entire district can be put under effective surveillance and vigil.
