Wanted gangster and aide of Lawrence Bishnoi killed in encounter by Special Cell, UP STF

A sharpshooter for jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was shot dead in UP’s Hapur by the Delhi Police Special Cell and Uttar Pradesh Police’s Special Task Force (STF).

The wanted gangster Naveen Kumar Kasana (34), was a resident of Ghaziabad and allegedly involved in the murder of a utensil trader in Delhi’s Farsh Bazaar area in December last year.

The operation, involving 25 to 30 policemen, took place near Kali Nahri Pul in Hapur.

Kasana was going from Dadri to Hapur to meet some of his gang members and carry out another extortion in North East Delhi. The Special Cell received tip off of Kasana’s movement from Dadri. The team tracked him to UP. 

The police stated that he was warned to stop, but he started firing back at police. Inspector Pankaj was hit on his bulletproof vest. Two more members of the Special Cell, SI Akshay Tyagi and SI Vijender, got shot as well. UP STF constable Ankur was also injured in firing. 

Around seven to eight bullets hit Kasana, and he fell off his bike. 

In December 2024, Kasana, along with his associate Sachin alias Golu, shot a 52-year-old businessman, Sunil Jain, while he was on a morning walk near his house in the Farsh Bazaar area of Delhi’s Shahdara.
