13 injured as bus from Punjab changes direction on KGP Expressway

The bus was carrying more than 35 passengers and going to Mathura and Vrindavan from Phillaur in Punjab : Police

New Delhi, April 25

13 people, including the driver, were injured when their bus had to changed its direction suddenly to avoid hitting other vehicles near the Maujpur toll booth on the Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) Expressway in Faridabad.

The police informed that the bus was carrying more than 35 passengers and going to Mathura and Vrindavan from Phillaur in Punjab when the accident took place in wee hours.

The driver and another passenger were seriously injured, and are being treated at a hospital in Ballabhgarh, and others are stable.

The police stated that the driver had to swerve and overtake to avoid hitting some vehicles, and hit another. The impact of the collision created a vacuum inside the bus, leaving its two doors jammed, because of which the glass had to be broken to free the passengers.
