Accidental firing inside parking lot of Galleria mall, no injuries

Two constables who had left their guns inside the car were going back after visiting the mall, when the pistol led to accidental firing

New Delhi, July 15

An incident of firing was reported from Gardens Galleria Mall in Sector 38 of Noida. 

The police said that the incident took place on July 12, from the parking area of the mall. The police had received a call regarding the incident stating that a gunshot was heard from inside a parked car at the mall.

The police reached the spot soon and searched the premises. They found two men sitting inside the car. 

The police identified the two as constables Dheeraj and Mukul, deployed at a police station in Ghaziabad's Indirapuram. The pistol belonged to Constable Mukul.

The two told the police they had come to visit the mall. However, they were not allowed to enter the mall premises with the pistol.

Hence, they had unloaded the weapon and had left it in their car. They said the accidental fire happened while the two were leaving the parking space after one of the constables had loaded the weapon.

The police added that no injuries in the incident but said they had registered a case against the two and were investigating the case.
