New Delhi, June 8

The West Bengal Police CID arrested one more accused in connection with the Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim Anar in Kolkata.

The accused was identified as Siam Hossain (35), a Bangladeshi national, from the Bangaon area in Bengal's North 24 Parganas district.

Earlier, the West Bengal CID also arrested one Jihad Hawaldar, an alleged Bangladeshi immigrant who had chopped Anar's body in multiple pieces before disposing it off.

As per the case details, Anar was allegedly murdered in a posh flat in the New Town area of Kolkata. Jihad Hawladar, a butcher by profession, allegedly chopped the body of the Bangladeshi lawmaker into 80 pieces and mixed them with turmeric before disposing them at different locations including a canal around New Town.

The search for the missing MP, who reportedly arrived in Kolkata on May 12 for medical treatment, began after Gopal Biswas, a resident of Baranagar in north Kolkata and an acquaintance of the Bangladeshi politician, filed a complaint with the local police on May 18.

Anar had stayed at Biswas's house upon arrival. In his complaint, Biswas stated that Anar left his Baranagar residence for a doctor's appointment on the afternoon of May 13 and was expected to return for dinner. When the MP went incommunicado on May 17, Biswas filed a missing complaint the following day.
