BSF seizes huge cache of narcotics in Tripura worth Rs. 1.32 crores

New Delhi, May 3
The Border Security Force (BSF) BSF seized huge cache of narcotics in Tripura.
The BSF received specific intelligence input about the presence of narcotics following which the troops of BSF cordoned off the area and started a search operation.
During search operation, sign of a drum buried in earth was found.
The BSF dug the area and found 13 plastic drums full of dry Ganja buried inside.
During the operation Tripura Police were also present on place of seizure.
The officials said that in the joint operation they seized 474 Kgs Ganja worth Rs. 21,95,000/- in the premises of a house in the village Rangamat in Sonamura District.
In addition to that, in the same operation, the BSF further seized 16,000 Yaba tablets worth Rs. 80,00,000/-, Eskuf syrep -439 Btls worth 82,950/- and Brown Sugar- 2.6 gm worth Rs.78,000 /- were recovered.
Based on specific input 5700 Nos Yaba tablets worth Rs. 28,50,000/-were recovered in area of responsibility of BOP Salpokar.
The officials added that the total seizure amount of narcotics in two days is Rs. 1,32,05,950.
The officials added that it is pertinent to mention that vigilant BSF troops deployed on the extreme frontiers of the country in Tripura are ensuring the peace, harmony and tranquility along the Indo- Bangladesh international border and seizing various contraband items on regular basis from the bordering areas.
