Chandigarh crime branch arrests BKI operative and aide of Happy Passia, Harwant Singh

New Delhi, May 13
The Chandigarh Crime Branch have arrested an operative of the terror group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) following the arrest of wanted gangster overseas, Happy Passia.
The accused, identified as Harwant Singh alias Harry, was involved in anti-national activities and firing cases on the directions of Manu Agwan and Happy Passia in Punjab.
The police have also recovered a pistol with three live cartridges from the accused’s possession.
Harwant Singh, a resident of Tehsil Ajnala District Amritsar, Punjab, is an active member of Pasia-Harwinder Singh Rinda’s BKI. He recruited Sumandeep Singh and Jobanjit Singh, alias Billa, for the Passia group, who have already been arrested in this case.
Harwant had to receive a consignment of weapons in Punjab on directions from Agwan, but the consignment was recovered by Punjab Police before they could get their hands on it. The weapons and ammunition were arranged by Harwant to commit the crime, the police said. For such tasks they received money from Agwan, Passia and Gopi Nawasaria, police added.
