CISF interceptes two passengers carrying diamonds worth Rs. 60 lakhs at IGI Airport

CISF seized diamonds weighing about 163 gms worth approximately Rs. 60 lakhs

New Delhi, September 5

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) intercepted two passengers with various types of diamonds weth over Rs. 60 lakhs. 

The CISF personnel detected diamonds weighing about 80 gms in various sizes concealed in the waist belt of a passenger. 

The passenger was later identified as Jitendra Farsio bound for Istanbul by Turkish Airline flight No. TK-717/STD 06:30hours.

The matter was informed to senior CISF and customs officials. On thorough checking of his mobile phone and tactfully questioning the passenger, it was revealed that his accomplice  M Anuj Patil Bhagwan who was also travelling by the same flight was also carrying loose diamonds. With the help of CCTV footage the passenger was located and intercepted. On thorough checking of his hand bag, diamonds in various sizes weighing about 83 gms was detected.

Later, both the  passengers alongwith recovered diamonds weighing about 163 gms, worth approximately Rs. 60 lakh were handed over to customs for further action in the matter, officials further added.
