Delhi Crime Branch arrested a doctor who allegedly provided medical certificates to inmates for bail

New Delhi, March 26

Delhi Crime Branch arrested a doctor who wanted since 2016 for allegedly providing fake medical certificates to jail inmates. 

The accused was identified as Dr. Gajender Nayyar (65) of Dwarka. He was declared proclaimed offender by the Rohini court.

The crime branch officials stated that he was previously involved in a fake medical report racket and helped more than 50 inmates in securing bail from the Hon’ble High court of Delhi and various District courts of Delhi. 

The crime branch had registered  a case against him under Sections 201, 209, 420, 467, 468, 471 and120B of the Indian Penal Code.   

The officials added that the accused doctor was running on interim bail from the Sessions Courts of Delhi in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. However, after expiry of interim bail period the accused doctor did not surrender before the jail authorities and jumped bail.            

The crime branch had received an input that  the accused doctor, Gajender Nayyar that he was not attending the court in another case of cheating registered against him by Prashant Vihar police station and that he was declared proclaimed offender by the Rohini Court. On the basis of the information police formed a search team.to arrest him. 

Dr. Nayyar is an MBBS Doctor and procured his degree from Maulana Azad Medical College. He is allegedly involved in three cases at RK Puram, Prashant Vihar and with the Delhi Crime Branch, officials added.
