Delhi Crime Branch busts a drug cartel, 10 held, 1,667 grams of high-quality heroin seized

The cartel reportedly operated across Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Rajasthan’s Mewat, and Delhi had international links extending to Afghanistan and Pakistan : Delhi Crime Branch

New Delhi, April 21

The Delhi Crime Branch busted a cross-border drug trafficking cartel and arrested 10 persons while seizing 1,667 grams of high-quality heroin and 130 grams of a suspected chemical substance.

This has busted a cartel operating internationally. The cartel reportedly operated across Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), Rajasthan’s Mewat, and Delhi had international links extending to Afghanistan and Pakistan. 

The main accused has been identified as Faheem Farooq, 37, from Srinagar, who was found in possession of 996 grams of heroin. The other cartel members were identified as Parminder Singh alias Harry, a drug supplier from Punjab, and Salwinder alias Gora, another key member.

 A team of the Crime Branch also seized two motorcycles used for drug distribution, and Rs 10 crore worth of properties linked to the cartel. 

Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Devesh Chandra Srivastva stated that the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) conducted the operation over the last few days, after which they made arrests and seizures.

Special CP Shrivastava stated that Faheem’s questioning led to the arrest of Shazia Peer, another accused allegedly linked to the network, who admitted to trafficking heroin across various countries, including the United Kingdom and the United States.
