The Delhi Police North District arrested an alleged drug peddlar who was found with heroin worth Rs. one and half crores in his possession. The accused has a record of 100 cases against him in Delhi.
DCP North, Anto Alphonse stated that the accused is a habitual criminal and was booked under the MCOCA in 2015.
The accused has been identified as Karnail Singh alias Kanna (51), who is an alleged kingpin of drug racket and a notorious criminal of Gulabi Bagh area.
The police seized 258 gms of high quality Heroin that has an international market value of Rs. 1.5 crores.
The officials had received information that an active supplier of drugs would come at Gali No. 6 of Andha Mughal to supply huge quantity of drugs. In a trap laid to arrest him, the police found the accused coming from Pratap Nagar metro aide with a white bag in his hand. He was apprehended right from the spot.
According to police, his interrogation revealed that he used to purchase heroin from one Rajkumar, who has whereabouts in Moti Nagar in Delhi and in Bareilly of UP. He used to then supply it in retail to the customers visiting his address.
The police added that he was convicted in robbery, snatching and assaulting police team while discharging official duty and remained in judicial custody for 10 years.
As per the police records, Kanna is a hardened criminal who got into committing crime in 1990 and was first arrested in a theft case in Ashok Vihar. Since then he has been found involved in various crimes from burglary to attempt to murder, snatching and illegal supply of arms.
The accused has been booked under the NDPS Act in this case.
