The Delhi police Outer District arrested three who allegedly faked a robbery and were attempting to swindle the money from their company.
The arrested were identified as Dharmender Sharma (24) of Nangloi, Himanshu Chand (23) Poudi Garwal in Uttrakhand and Rounak Kumar Jha (22) from Nangloi. Dharmendra is working as accountant since last two years while Himanshu is working as cook since last one month for the complainant. Raunak is the friend of Dharmender and working in a finance company.
DCP Outer Dr. A Koan stated the employees had hatched the plan to siphone off the money and claim robbery.
The police said that on the March 3, a PCR call regarding robbery of cash Rs. 40 Lakh at Mangolpuri flyover was received at Mangolpuri police station. The caller was Dharmender who was present there alongwith Himanshu and their employer.
The employer of Dharmender told police that he had sent both his employees to collect the amount of Rs. 40 lakhs from one iron merchant at Paschim Vihar. At about 4:30 PM, he was informed that the collected amount Rs. 40 lakhs has been robbed by four persons who were on two motorcycles. He rushed to the spot to take the stock of the situation but had an apprehension that his employees may have had a dishonest intention.
The police formed a special team that in investigated the case through technical surveillance and interrogated both the employees. Both employees disclosed their involvement in this case and Rs. 35 lakss was recovered from their house.
The police are further investigating the case.
