On the occasion, LG Saxena congratulated the police personnel on the Commissionerate Day Parade.
"I congratulate all the Delhi Police personnel on the Commissionerate Day Parade. I feel honoured to be a part of this parade for the third consecutive time. As you all know, it was on this day in 1978 that the commissionerate system of Delhi policing was initiated. This system has significantly contributed to making law enforcement more effective. It has granted several powers to the Delhi Police, which have not only helped in preventing crimes but also in ensuring the welfare of the force. The success of this system is evident as many major cities across the country have adopted it. For the capital, this system has proven to be a milestone, and today is a day to celebrate its success."
He added, "Delhi Police is recognized as one of the most trusted police forces in the country. The courage and commitment of the Delhi Police have established it as an efficient force. Credit goes to all the commissioners who have led it and to the dedicated police officers. Every day, the Delhi Police faces numerous challenges. Their duty is not just to ensure security but also to safeguard the millions of people who come here daily. Additionally, the responsibility of managing the daily VIP movements, political and religious activities, and protests involving large crowds falls on the Delhi Police”.
