Delhi Police Dwarka District fined 129 persons in a day for not wearing masks

New Delhi, April 12

Following the launch of the special drive by Delhi Police on Covid Appropriate Behaviour, the Dwarka police stepped up the action on citizens.

DCP Dwarka, Santosh Meena stated that Dwarka Police deployed special teams across the districts, which are focusing on areas that have a high footfall, especially in rushed market places.

The decision to increase enforcement was discussed between senior officers, during the law-and-order meeting.  

The officials stated that on April 11, from 05 PM to 09 PM local police staff, picket staff, as well as DCP/Reserve staff, issued 129 challans against violators, who are not maintaining social distancing/ not wearing face mask at public places/workplace. 


The  officials added that local police as well as Community Policing Cell/DWD, are making announcements/ spreading awareness and sensitizing about the mask rule, Dwarka police want to ensure that people comply with the rules in public spaces, these types of drives will also continue in future, the officials added.
