Delhi Police Special Cell arrested a notorious criminal wanted in armed robberies

The Delhi Police Special Cell arrested a notorious criminal who was wanted in armed robbery cases in the national capital.
The accused was identified as Dinesh Kumar (44) alias Fighter of Saheed Nagar Sahibabad in Ghaziabad UP.
DCP Special Cell Pramod Kushwah stated that the accused was nabbed at Vivek Vihar flyover near ISBT Anand Vihar while riding a stolen motorcycle. He was having a reward Rs 50000/- on information leading to his arrest in a case of armed robbery of the year 2020 in Shahdara of Delhi.
The special cell officials stated that they received information about the movements and criminal activities of a notorious robber namely Dinesh East and NE Delhi. The officials were deployed in the area to gather more information about the said fugitive.
The officials stated that they received information that Dinesh was going tk arrive at Vivek Vihar flyover in the evening to meet his associate. A trap was laid around the said spot where Dinesh was spotted. He was surrounded and finally overpowered at Vivek Vihar flyover by the special cell a brief scuffle as he had whipped out a pistol and tried to fire at the police team.
The police seized one single shot pistol of .315 with two live cartridges from him. A case under appropriate sections of law was registered at the special cell in this regard.
The officials added that the accused was carrying a reward of Rs. 50,000/- in a case of armed robbery at Shahdara. In this case, Naveen, a cash collection agent of a company having office at Laxmi Nagar was going to deposit the cash amounting Rs. 14.95 lacs in a branch of SBI Bank at Laxmi Nagar. Acused Dinesh with his five other associates namely Ajay alias Pintu Sharma, Prabhat, Rajat and Nadeem upon three motorcycles had waylaid and robbed Naveen of the said cash at gun point.
The officials further said that Dinesh has also been found previously arrested in a dozen criminal cases including those of murder-cum dacoity, attempt to murder, robbery, snatching, assault, hurt, criminal intimidation, theft, auto-lifting, arms act etc in Delhi and UP. He has been arrested in seven criminal cases in Delhi and in five cases in UP. Dinesh with his associates had shot dead a truck driver when he resisted their attempts to rob his truck. The accused then robbed off his truck laden with goods in the area of Gokulpuri. He alongwith his associates had robbed a jeweller of his jewellery worth Rs two Crores at gun point in Geeta Colony in Delhi in the year 2014. The bike recovered from Dinesh has been found stolen from Fatehpur Beri in Delhi on March 5.
The accused had also remained associated with notorious gangs of Krishan Pal Fauji and Hitender alias Chhotu in the past.
The special cell is further investigation of the case is in progress.
