DRUG PEDDLER ARRESTED, FOUND WITH 10KG CANNABIS IN HIS POSSESSION

New Delhi, March 3

Delhi Police South West District police arrested an alleged drug peddler who found to have over 10 kilograms of cannabis in his possession. 

The accused was identified as one Sanjeet (27) Kapshera in New Delhi and originally belongs to Muzzafarpur in Bihar. The police seized 10.802 kg of Ganja (cannabis) from him.

The police received a tip off that the accused has been allegedly supplying cannabis in the area since some time and accordingly, the police laid a trap to nab him.   The police team found one person walking out of a cremation ground alone and when checked he allegedly tried to escape. He was however caught by the police team.

During interrogation, he disclosed that his brother in-law Sunil had indulged in selling of Ganja from past few years. Earlier he was employed by the former to allegedly sell the cannabis but after he got arrested for the same, he in order to make quick and easy money started selling Ganja at his own. 

DCP (South West) Ingit Pratap Singh stated that the accused has revealed that he used to reportedly purchase a large amount of the contraband from one Inder alias Subhash of Dwarka and later sell it in retail pouches in nearby areas. 

The police stated he was earlier arested in the excise case at Kapshera. The police are further investigating the case to nab the main supplier.

The accused has been booked the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
