ED raids farmhouse of RG Kar Medical College Chief Dr. Sandip Ghosh in financial irregularities case

The ED also searched residence and nursing home of Dr. Sudipta Roy, TMC MLA and chairman of the West Bengal Health Recruitment Board

New Delhi, September 18

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided the farmhouse of Dr Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, in connection with suspected financial irregularities case. 

The officials also searched the residence and nursing home of Dr. Sudipta Roy, TMC MLA and chairman of the West Bengal Health Recruitment Board, in North Kolkata and also Chairman of Patients' Welfare Association at RG Kar. 

The CBI had raided Roy's properties a day before ED's raid.

Sudipta Roy, known to have close ties with Dr Sandip Ghosh, is currently at his residence, where he is being questioned by the ED officials regarding the RG Kar corruption case.

Ghosh is under investigation for alleged financial mismanagement and irregularities during his time as principal of RG Kar Medical College.

He had previously been questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the rape and murder of a doctor at the hospital on August 9, leading to his arrest in that case.

Earlier this month, the investigators found documents related to at least seven properties during searches linked to Dr Sandip Ghosh in connection with financial irregularities.
