Former Karnataka minister BC Patil's son-in-law dies by suicide

Pratap called his family after 3.30 pm and informed them that he had consumed poison : Police

New Delhi, July 9

The son-in-law of former Karnataka minister and BJP leader BC Patil died by suicide inside his car. 

The police said that Pratap was married to BC Patil's elder daughter, Sowmya. His body was found inside his car, which was parked near a forest in the Arakere area of Davangere district.

The police stated that Pratap called his family after 3.30 pm and informed them that he had consumed poison. The police also found a bottle of poison from his car. 

The police were alerted and took him to a hospital in Honnali taluk. He was later transferred to Mcgann Hospital in Shivamogga, where he passed away.

The police however didn't find any death note at the spot. The family has not filed a complaint or mentioned the reason. We are waiting for them to file a complaint, police added.
