Gangster Tillu Tajpuria killed by rival gang in Tihar Jail

New Delhi, May 2

In a gang rivalry, jailed gangster Sunil Maan alias Tillu Tajpuriya who was accused in a Delhi shootout case was beaten to death by rival gangsters inside Tihar Jail. 

The incident led led to a minor commotion in Tihar Jail in the wee hours of May 2 when the jail guards found Tajpuria dead. 

The police have named four inmates gangster Yogesh Tonda and his associates Deepak Titar, Rajesh Singh, and Riyaz Khan who are said to be a part of the Jitendra Gogi gang. 

Sunil who was lodged on the ground floor of the ‘high risk ward’ was allegedly attacked around 6.15 am by four men lodged on the first floor of the same ward. The accused used an improvised iron rod by cutting open the iron grill installed on the first floor of the ward.

According to the police, these inmates thrashed the gangster with iron rods and Tajpuria suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to Central Jail OPD and then to DDU Hospital in an unconcious condition where he was reported brought dead on arrival. 

Tajpuria was the founder of the infamous Tillu gang and was allegedly involved in the 2021 shootout of gang leader Jitendra Gogi by two assailants inside a courtroom at Rohini Court complex. The infamous Tajpuria gang has been involved in multiple cases including murder, robbery, extortion and gang war.
