Gog gang member shot six times in Mundka, police suspect gang rivalry

The police are investigating if members of the Tillu Tajpuriya gang was involved in the murder

New Delhi, November 11

A member of the infamous Gogi gang was shot six times in Mundka area of Delhi. 

The victim was identified as Amit Lakra was involved in a robbery case and was out on bail. The investigation is underway.

The police said two unidentified assailants on two motorcycles opened fire at Lakra near the Mundka traffic signal before fleeing. 

The rivalry between the Gogi and Tajpuriya gangs is one of the most notorious in Delhi’s history. Even though the leaders of both gangs are dead, their members have carried out hits on each other regularly over the years. 

Gogi was gunned down inside the Rohini court in 2020 and it was alleged that Tajpuriya was the mastermind, having planned his killing from inside jail. Two years later, in August 2023, Tajpuriya was stabbed to death inside Tihar Jail allegedly by members of the Gogi gang.

The police are investigating if members of the Tillu Tajpuriya gang was involved in the murder.
