New Delhi, April 1

The Gurugram police has registered an FIR against Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner and YouTuber Elvish Yadav in connection with the alleged use of prohibited snakes in a video.

Elvish was booked alongwith singer Rahul Yadav alias Fazalpuria in the case.

An animal rights activist, Saurabh Gupta working with People for Animals had filed a plea in the court.

It stated that Yadav and 50 other people were seen using various snakes, which are prohibited as per the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, in a viral video. The plea further alleged that the video was shot in a mall in Gurgaon, adding that Yadav along with unknown persons indulged in other illegal activities as well.

Gupta further said that he approached police after he saw the video to lodge a case, but to no avail. On October 15 last year, he sent an email to the official ID of the Gurgaon Commissioner and on November 6, he met him in person, the complainant alleged. When no action was taken, he moved court.

After the court order, the Badshahpur police station registered an FIR under IPC sections 294, 34, and sections 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and 51 of the Wildlife Protection Act.
