Father of INDIA bloc leader in Bihar, Jitan Sahani was brutally murdered in Bihar. The police arrested four persons suspected to be involved in the murder.
Jitan Sahani was the father Mukesh Sahani of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP).
The police stated that the probe so far suggests that two of the suspects had previously borrowed money at interest from the deceased. They had a heated argument with Jitan Sahani just days before his murder. The third suspect is believed to have pledged his motorcycle as collateral for a loan from the victim.
The police stated that Sahani had 70 stab wounds and found dead at his home. His body was sent for post-mortem and the report is awaited.
The police are scanning through call data records and financial transactions between the detainees and Jitan Sahani.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar promised for a a speedy investigation in the case.
Sahani is a prominent Nishad community leader and former minister in the Bihar government. His party, the VIP, is an alliance partner of the INDIA bloc.
