Jharkhand Police neutralizes gangster Aman Sahu in an encounter as he attempts to flee

New Delhi, March 12
Gangster Aman Sahu was killed in an encounter in Jharkhand’s Palamu district when members of his gang allegedly attempted to free him from police custody while he was being transported from Raipur jail in Chhattisgarh to Ranchi.
One officer from Jharkhand ATS was injured in the attack and is currently under treatment.
The police informed that the shootout took place near Andheritola in the Ramgarh. Members of Sahu’s gang allegedly attacked the police vehicle carrying him. Sahu was killed during the shooting.
Sahu was a dreaded gangster and allegedly involved in over a hundred criminal cases, including murder and extortion, and had been convicted in some of them. Lately, there were reported that he was also linked to jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
Jharkhand Director General of Police Anurag Gupta had said several criminal activities in the state were being planned from inside jails and had identified Aman Sahu as being among the key figures in this network. The DGP had also said raids were conducted in some jails in recently.
