J&K police arrest terror associates of LeT who were involved in multiple bank robberies

New Delhi, April 24

The Baramulla Police in a joint operation with 29RR arrested three terrorist associates from Lashkar-e-Taiba. 

The accused were identified as Rahil Ahmed Parray from Kanihama, Arif Ahmed from Mahzama and Naseer Ahmed Bhat of Singhpora who were allegedly working on direct connection with LeT terrorist Yusuf Dar and Abrar Nadeem Bhat. 

The Baramulla police stated that the trio were involved in the recent robbery at the J&K bank Khore Sherabad on April 22 as well other robberies Gramin Bank Ogmuna, Grameen Bank Panzinara and J&K Bank Chandipora. 

The officials stated that the accused decamped cash of total of Rs. 9,51, 000 from all the three banks. They were als involved in looting Rs. 3.50 lakhs from a petol pump at Budgam on February 18. 

According to Baramulla police, the accused were also involved in killing of a civilian Naseer Ahmed Khan of Buchipora Magam on April 11. 

The police have seized two 12 bore rifles, one Chinese pistol, 25 live cartridges, one multipurpose knife, tying chain, PPE kits and three vehicles. 

The police are further investigating the case.
