Journalist Soumya Vishwanathan Murder- Senior IPS Officer HGS Dhaliwal turns out to be an aide for the bereaved family

A beareaved family of slain journalist Soumya Vishwanathan that fought a battle for justice for 15 long years had a constant supporting hand from IPS officer HGS Dhaliwal. The family who lost their daughter received immsense support from Dhaliwal in last 15 years.
The accused arrested and identified as Ravi Kapoor, Baljeet Malik, Ajay Bhainga and Amit.
When the judgment was pronounced the judge convicted four men for murder, HGS Dhaliwal came to the court and hugged the old parents of Vishwanathan.
TV journalist Soumya Vishwanathan who used to work in Indian Today Group was shot dad by four men Nelson Mandela Marg while she was driving back home in her car from her office in early morning hours.
Her parents, MK Vishwanathan (82) and Madhavi (78) had no idea how to take the case forward and knew nothing about the processes. The family was thoroughly aided by IPS officer, HGS Dhaliwal who was DCP (South) when Vishwanathan was shot dead.
He was the only officer who visited their home for years and always called them about case updates. He kept in touch with the family and ensured enough evidence and witnesses were put on record to bring convictions in the case
As per the case details, the police first thought that Soumya died in an accident; it was the autopsy that showed she was shot dead. The case lay in cold storage for six months and was solved when another woman, Jigisha Ghosh, was targeted and murdered in a similar manner in South Delhi’s Vasant Kunj in 2009.
His teams said they recovered the country-made pistol which was used to kill Soumya after they arrested the trio involved in Jigisha’s murder. The police found corroborative evidence and more than 100 witnesses to prove the case scitenfically and collected multiple evidences that proved that Vishwanathan was murdered.
The police also slapped Ravi with MCOC Act charges for running a crime syndicate and targeting other persons in the area.
For Vishwanathan's parents, HGS Dhaliwal was a blessing in disguise of a police officer!
