Murder convict released from prison in UP dies in road accident
Vijay Kumar from Kannauj district, had been serving a life sentence in a prison in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, for a 2012 murder case

A convict was killed in a road accident on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Uttar Pradesh while returning home after serving nine years in prison for a murder case. His daughter, who was travelling with him in an autorickshaw, also died after an SUV collided with the rickshaw.
The police have arrested the SUV driver was arrested.
The deceased was identified as Vijay Kumar from Kannauj district, had been serving a life sentence in a prison in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, for a 2012 murder case.
He was released from prison on September 11 and was returning home in an autorickshaw with his wife and daughter when the SUV, coming from Delhi, struck the vehicle from behind near the Talgram area.
Kumar and his daughter died in the accident, while his wife and the rickshaw driver were injured. They were admitted to Kannauj Medical College in Tirwa.
Vijay was lodged in the district jail in Kannauj in 2016 and was transferred to a jail in Etawah around 15 to 16 months ago.
