NCB seizes 1,590kg of marijuana from Karnataka's Biadar

The drug was packed in 774 square-shaped packets and concealed in a specially designed cavity in the truck : NCB

New Delhi, May 16

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized over 1,590kg of marijuana near Aurad in Bidar district and held two people. 

The NCB stated that the seizure of 1,591 kg of the narcotic substance from a truck bearing Karnataka registration number, at the Wanmarapalli Check Post in Bidar district

The said truck was seized and two persons were apprehended. The drug was packed in 774 square-shaped packets and concealed in a specially designed cavity in the truck, officials informed. 

The NCB added that the drug syndicates operating in the region are adopting a unique modus operandi where the marijuana is being transported in specially made cavities in vehicles, making it difficult for law enforcement agencies to detect them.

This is the second case in two months where huge quantities of the banned narcotic substance was seized. 

Earlier, the NCB had seized seizure of 1,596.35 kg of ganja was effected in the month of March 2024, and in both the seizures, the source of the Ganja has been Andhra-Orissa border.
