NEET paper leak probe- CBI team attacked in Bihar

A video of the incident emerged on social media where a mob was seen gathering around the CBI vehicles and heckling the officers

New Delhi, June 24

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team probing UGC-NET paper leak case was attacked on  in Bihar's Nawada.

 

The Bihar police have arrested four persons in connection with the attack.

 

The police stated that the incident took place when a team of CBI had gone to Kasiadeeh village in the area.

 

A video of the incident emerged on social media where a mob was seen gathering around the CBI vehicles and heckling the officers. Though no CBI official sustained major injuries, some of them suffered minor injuries as the people surrounded their car.

The accused have been booked under various charges including charges of causing disruption in government work and assault

 

The Bihar police stated that the CBI's arrival in Bihar and their subsequent raid was kept under wraps and Rajauli Police was not informed about it. When they agency started raiding, the people of that area mistook them for imposters and started questioning, following which, Rajauli Police was informed.

The CBI  team was camping in Bihar after it registered an FIR in the case and immediately sent a team of special officers to Bihar where maximum impct of NEET paper leak was witnessed. 

 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced cancellation of the exam on June 18, the day it was conducted, saying ‘the integrity of the examination may have been compromised.’
