NIA chargesheets CPI (Maoist) terror organisation in the NRB states of India

New Delhi, February 27
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has chargesheeted one arrested accused in a case relating to revival of the banned CPI (Maoist) terror organisation in the Northern Regional Bureau (NRB) states of India.
Ajay Singhal alias Aman, a resident of Sonipat (Haryana) and in-charge of State Organising Committee of CPI (Maoist) in the state, has been chargesheeted in NIA for his involvement in the outfit’s attempts to revive its activities in NRB, comprising UP, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
NIA investigations have revealed that the accused had status equivalent to Central Committee Member of CPI (Maoist).
He had visited Chakarbandha forest of Jharkhand to collect funds from Central Committee Member (CCM) Pramod Mishra alias Vanbihari and Sandeep Yadav. While Sandeep Yadav, the Commander/Secretary of Bihar-Jharkhand Special Area Committee (BJSAC) for recruitment of cadres, has since died, Mishra has been arrested in another NIA case. Ajay was also involved in recruitment for the CPI (Maoist) re-strengthening of the organisation in NRB region.
CPI (Maoist) leaders, cadres and sympathisers/Overground Workers (OGWs) have been working to re-energise the organisation, with financial support from its Eastern Regional Bureau, especially from Jharkhand, for organising several front organizations and student wings in Northern India.
