NIA conducted searches at three states in Nimtita Railway Station Case

New Delhi, March 25

The NIA conduced searches at three locations in West Bengal and Jharkhand in Nimtita railway station. 

The NIA officials stated that searches were conducted at Biyon Sk and Mohammudin SK alias Mohan Kasai in Murshidabad of West Bengal and at the premises of accused Shahidul Islam at Majhgaon in West Singhbhum if Jharkhand. 

The officials added the case was initially registered in February 2021 at Azimganj GRPS at District Murshidabad under sections 120B, 307 & 326 of IPC and 3, 4 of Explosives Substances Act relating to a bomb blast at Nimtita Railway station that resulted in grevious injury to 27 persons including Jakir Hossain Minister of West Bengal. 

The NIA had re-registered the case as on March 2 and taken up the investigation. In the course of investigation section 16 and 18 of UA(P) Act have been invoked. 

The officials further said that during the searches conducted by NIA in the case, several incriminating documents and electronic items have been seized. 

The NIA is further investigating the case.
