ONE CRIMINAL WHO BRANDISHED AN ILLEGAL FIREARM IN A VIRAL VIDEO ON SOCIAL MEDIA NABBED
New Delhi, February 26
A video of a man brandishing a gun and allegedly firing in a marriage function in Delhi had gone viral on social media.
After several checks and verification, the police identified him as Ashish alias Manish Sonkar (32), a resident of Subji Mandi in Delhi.
He had reportedly opened fire in the marriage of his cousin Ankush on February 17 in Indira Park, Subzi Mandi area of the city.
Ashish was arrested from Roop Nagar after a brief chase near Ramjas College Chowk. The police recovered one semi-automatic pistol loaded with two live cartridges from his possession.
The police stated that during his interrogation he revealed that he had committed robbery of purse in 2014 in Subji Mandi area to gather money for alcohol. He had purchased the sophisticated pistol from one Gaurav alis Bihari six months ago to show off in the vicinity.
The police have now geared up to arrest Gaurav for further recoveries.
