Operation Track Back- Delhi Crime Branch gets major breakthrough in recovering stolen mobile phones

As part of “Delhi Police Week Celebrations”, Crime Branch, Delhi Police organized ‘Operation Track Back’
The event was presided over Special CP (Crime) Devesh Chandra Srivastva, Special Commissioner of Police, Crime.
Special CP (Crime) Devesh Chandra Srivastva, appreciated the initiative of Crime Branch and stressed upon that alongside solving heinous cases, these are small steps which can restore happiness to a common people. He further requested the public persons present in the function that police and public when comes together can bring a positive change in the society for the betterment of the society. He also motivated the officers of the Crime Branch to continue carrying out such operations with utmost dedication and sincerity.
Recognizing the incidents of mobile phone theft in Delhi-NCR and the associated risks to citizens' personal data and security, the Crime Branch, Delhi Police had launched ‘Operation Track Back’ returning happiness to the citizens’—a dedicated initiative aimed at recovering stolen mobile phones and ensuring their return to rightful owners. In a major success under this initiative, the Crime Branch, Delhi Police has made a significant breakthrough in tracking and recovering stolen and lost mobile phones. This initiative is dedicated to providing relief to innocent victims who suffer distress due to the loss or theft of their valuable mobile devices.
In a major breakthrough, dedicated teams from Cyber Cell, AKEC, and WR-1 sections of Crime Branch made crucial arrests that struck a major blow to international mobile theft and smuggling networks and successfully recovered over 305 stolen mobile phones worth more than 4 crore.
During an operation, Cyber Cell, Crime Branch arrested one Manish Yadav from Wazirabad, Delhi and 195 high-value stolen mobile phones having worth approximately Rs. 2 crores were recovered from his possession.
On the same line, AKEC, Crime Branch arrested two members of international mobile theft/supplier gang namely Rahul r/o Tigri JJ Colony, New Delhi and Vaheed r/o Sangam Vihar, New Delhi from Indraprastha Park Bus Stand, Ring Road, New Delhi and 58 costly stolen mobile phones were recovered from them.
Additionally, crime branch arrested a key receiver and supplier of stolen mobile phones namely Asif (27) and 52 stolen mobile phones, including 40 iPhones, were seized from him.
During this operation, given the large number of recovered devices, the task of extracting details was challenging, as many phones were either locked or completely drained. Additionally, linking these phones to registered FIRs and lost reports required meticulous efforts.
The crime branch returned total 216 mobile phones to the rightful owners:
