SRPF exams- Pune Police arrest one dummy candidate who appeared for his brother

New Delhi. December 15

A dummy candidate was allegedly found sitting in place of his brother in the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) recruitment examination. 

The police identified the accused as Vishal Gabrusingh Bahure (25), resident of Jodwadi in Aurangabad.

Anup Pawar, superintendent at the examination centre, lodged the FIR at Hadapsar police station. 

The police stated that Bharat Singh was the candidate for the SRPF examination. However, he sent his brother Vishal came to the examination centre at S M Joshi College in Hadapsar. The examiner doubted the credentials and alerted police. 

The police arrested Vishal from the examination centre. He also confessed to police after his arrest that he was appearing as a dummy candidate for his brother. 

The police seized a Bluetooth device from his possession.

The police are now gearing up to arrest Bharat. The police have booked an FIR under sections 419, 420, 468, 471, 511, 188, 34 of the IPC and sections of the Maharashtra Prevention of Malpractices at University, Board and Other Specified Examinations Act, 1982.

The accused has been remanded to four days of police custody by the court. 

This incident came to the fore days after the MHADA exam scheduled on December 12 was attempted to get leaked. The Pune cybercrime probing the case have held three from Pune including director of an IT company of Pune who was given a contract to conduct the examinations and three from Aurangabad. The accused in the MHADA exam paper case were also found involved in the Maharashtra state health exam paper leak which is also under investigation and 17 persons have been held so far including an Indian Navy sailor, owners of some educational institutes and more.
